1. You’ll never find an Aga on a landfill site Unlike other types of stoves, every Aga is almost completely recyclable. Since the very first model was made more than 80 years ago, 70% of each Aga has been made from previously used material. Car gearboxes, guttering, old machinery, cookers, door fittings, drain covers, lamp-posts and much more can all be found in the world’s most famous stove.

OHS was initially built on the need to safely manage asbestos when the danger of that substance was first realised.

OHS was a pioneer in asbestos management and this was recognised by the HSE awarding the company the Health and Safety Executives first ever Supervisory Licence.

OHS Limited is in its 29th year. It was founded in the early 1980’s by Martin Penny who is still the company owner and chairman. The Managing Director John Horsfall has worked for OHS for over twenty years and as an ex ARCA Chairman is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable executives working in the health and safety industry.

OHS opened modern prestigious offices and laboratories attached to the Bradford University Science Park which reflected the technical and scientific approach that OHS had to the management of initially asbestos and then quickly all health safety and environmental issues.

OHS is the leading fully independent health safety and environmental management consultancy, a criteria favoured by the HSE, in the UK and is a debt free company.

OHS have introduced signed Charters and Pledges to clients like North Somerset Council and ASDA making public their 100% commitment to the client, their suppliers, employees and the general public in achieving full legislative compliance.

The OHS Team many of who have university qualifications is recruited from highly qualified and experienced specialists in the health and safety field with individual memberships of IOD, BOHS, APS, CQI, IOSH and ISACA and the company, which is an Investor in People holder, positions itself within the needs of any business, with the same importance as that of a top firm of solicitors, accountants or FM Advisors.

OHS client base reflects the success and ability of the company and includes ASDA, The Co-operative Group, United Utilities, Sainsbury, BP, Rank, Nestle, Land Securities; Telereal Trillium, Cadbury, Luton Airport, English Heritage, National Health Trusts and large public bodies such as North Somerset Council.
