LINPAC Packaging produces plastic packaging for the retail, catering, manufacturing, packing and food sectors, among others. We supply an innovative product range of more than 10,000 different items – from trays and films to disposable tableware.

The division alone employs 4,000 people across 37 sites in 19 countries, and generates annual sales of EUR940 million (£700 million).

Today the packaging business is not just about bringing products to market; it is about doing so quicker and more cost-effectively while using less raw material. LINPAC Packaging’s foamed PS trays, for example, use 50% less plastic than rigid PP trays and can offer high barrier protection. Some can also absorb meat juices without the use of insert pads (see LINPAC Packaging innovation).

We process practically every type of polymer available – including polystyrene (PS), high impact polystyrene (HIPS), oriented polystyrene (OPS), expanded polystyrene (EPS), polypropylene (PP), amorphous polyethylene terephthalate (aPET), recycled PET (rPET), K-Resin styrene-butadiene copolymers (SBC), and varieties of each of these. We also produce modified atmosphere barrier films, and manufacture from both virgin and recycled sources.

In Ohio, USA, our Filmco, business unit is a top-three manufacturer of PVC packaging products in North America, and market leader in dual-layer and light gauge PVC films. Filmco mainly supplies the supermarket protein sector in the USA and Mexico, and products include stretch films for fresh meat, produce and freezer food, plus speciality packages for case-ready packer processing and in-store manual or machine wrapping.
